Privacy Policy
This policy explains, in plain language, what Monthly Budget collects and why. It is written to be clear and accurate, but it is a template and has not been reviewed by a lawyer - if you have specific legal or compliance requirements, please have this reviewed before relying on it.
Who this covers
Monthly Budget ("the app", "we", "us") is a budgeting tool operated by its administrator, reachable at xtrillion74@gmail.com. This policy applies to anyone who creates an account or uses the app.
What we collect
- Account information - your email address and password (your password is hashed by our authentication provider; we never see or store it in plain text).
- Budget data you enter - income, expense, savings, and note entries you type into the app, stored per month.
- Phone number - only if you enable two-factor login verification, used solely to text you a one-time sign-in code.
- Billing information - handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see, receive, or store your card number, expiration date, or CVC. We keep only a Stripe customer/subscription reference ID and your subscription status.
- Basic device/app data - standard technical data like local time zone (used to keep monthly rollovers accurate) and, if you install the app, whether it's running as an installed app or in a browser.
How we use it
- To operate the app - save and load your budgets, keep you signed in, and roll unfinished numbers forward month to month.
- To process payments and manage your subscription through Stripe.
- To send account-related messages (password resets, sign-in codes, service notices) - never marketing email without your consent.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your budget data for advertising.
Who we share it with
- Supabase - our database and authentication provider, which stores your account and budget data.
- Stripe - our payment processor, which handles your card details and billing directly; see Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- We do not share your data with any other third party, and we do not sell it.
Cookies and local storage
The app uses your browser's local storage (not third-party tracking cookies) to remember things like your theme preference, the last month you viewed, and whether you've seen the in-app tutorial. This data stays on your device and is not sent to us.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your account and budget data for as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from inside the app (Settings → Delete my account), which also cancels any active subscription. If you'd rather we do it for you, email xtrillion74@gmail.com.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can exercise most of these directly in the app; for anything else, contact us at the email above and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
Children's privacy
Monthly Budget is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by our infrastructure providers. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
