Terms of Service

This is a plain-language template covering the essentials for a small subscription app. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer - if you need enforceable, jurisdiction-specific terms, please have this reviewed before relying on it.

1. Agreement

By creating an account or using Monthly Budget ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. The service

Monthly Budget is a personal budgeting tool for tracking income, expenses, and savings by month. Accounts are currently created by the app's administrator on your behalf; you're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.

3. Free trial

New accounts include a free 30-day trial with full access to the app. No payment method is required to start the trial. After the trial ends, continued access requires an active paid subscription.

4. Subscription and billing

5. Your data

You own the budget data you enter. We store it so the app can function and so you can access it across devices. See the Privacy Policy for details on what's collected and how it's used. You can export a PDF report from within the app or delete your account (and all associated data) at any time.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

7. Termination

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time from the in-app Settings screen. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, are used fraudulently, or remain unpaid after a reasonable grace period.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Monthly Budget is a personal organizational tool, not financial, tax, or investment advice - decisions you make based on it are your own responsibility.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Monthly Budget and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If changes are significant, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's home jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer protection law provides otherwise.
